About the project
A game a dad built for his kids – and that all kids may now play for free.
How it all began
It started with a simple question from the kids: “Dad, can you make us a game of our own?” So Dad Mario started programming in the evenings – a small platformer with a boy in a red cap, a sword and a Nightmare who steals children’s dreams.
Five levels became five worlds, one hero became four, one boss became a whole adventure. The kids tested every version, found bosses too hard, suggested puzzles, invented names and reported bugs. Many ideas in the game come straight from them.
Why free and without ads?
Because it’s a game for children. Many kids’ games make their money with ads, bait offers or data. We wanted the opposite: a game you can hand your kids with a clear conscience. That’s why there are no purchases, no ads, no chat, no tracking – and it costs nothing.
All home-made
Characters, worlds, lighting, music and sounds were all created in code – there are no third-party images or sounds. The game runs right in the browser, offline too, and is improved continuously.
