TOBIASAND THE NIGHTMARE

Privacy

In short: this website and the game collect no data about you or your child. There are no cookies, no analytics, no tracking, no ads and no embedded third-party services.

Who is responsible?

“Tobias and the Nightmare” is a private, non-commercial family project. Responsible: Mario Maier (“Dad Mario”), Heiligeneich, Austria. Contact for all privacy questions: info@tobias-game.com.

What happens when you visit (hosting)

Website and game are hosted by Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA). As with any website, the server processes technically necessary data on each request: IP address, time, requested address, browser identifier. This is needed to deliver the page at all and to protect it from abuse (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel keeps these server logs only briefly; I do not analyze them and create no profiles. For transfers to the USA Vercel relies, according to its own data processing agreement, on the EU standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

No cookies, no tracking

I set no cookies and use no analytics or advertising services, no tracking pixels, no social media buttons and no fonts or scripts from third-party servers. All fonts, images and videos belong to the site itself.

Save data on the device

The game stores progress (levels, stars, settings, profile names) exclusively in the browser’s storage on your device (localStorage or IndexedDB). This data never leaves the device – unless you choose to create a family code (see below). You can delete it any time by clearing the site data in your browser or in the game under ⚙️ Options → 🗑️ Delete save.

Optional: family code (cloud save)

If you want to sync progress between several of your own devices, you can create a family code in the options. Your progress is then stored under this random code in a private store at Vercel (Vercel Blob). Only game data such as completed levels, stars and gear is stored – no names, no email addresses, no contact details. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by creating the code. To have the stored save deleted, send me the code at info@tobias-game.com.

Email contact

If you write to me (for example via the idea mailbox), I use your message and email address only to reply. I pass nothing on. For children, please send me at most a first name and age.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Simply write to info@tobias-game.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Austrian data protection authority (www.dsb.gv.at).
